Questions & Answers by Daryl Hoole
Women throughout the ages have found it rewarding to be in touch with other good women who stand for similar values and principles.  They have gathered at the well, chatted around a quilting frame, or visited over the back fence as they've exchanged ideas and information.
Gleaning ideas and information electronically via the Internet is a modern version of this type of sharing.  As such, we are now providing a Question and Answer feature, which is a wonderful means of communication for women interested in successful home management and quality family living.

By means of this Question and Answer format you can learn what others are asking.  It can be comforting to know you're not the only one who struggles with problems or wonders about an issue.  And if there's something on your mind, here's your opportunity to submit your own questions by emailing me, Daryl, at ask@theartofhomemaking.com

Q: Does your new book address the concerns of moms who have to work, either at home or away from home. answer

Q: How can you help someone, either family or otherwise, who seems to have no drive to keep a clean home? answer

Q: We are undergoing a hugh remodeling of our home and our house is dirt from one end to the other.  I am not sure where to begin to clean it all up.  Do I do it one room at a time? Or do all rooms by the chore, such as vacuuming? answer

Q: I have never been taught the "hows" and "whys" of laundry. What is the correct way to wash clothes? answer

Q: What is your recommendation for mothers who have many small children, but who may be sick with a bad flu bug, or something else that requires many days of bedrest? answer

Q: I have worked for 40 years to get "organized", then my husband retired. Now we live half in Utah and half in Arizona. Could you please offer some general ideas  for retirees? answer

They have structure during the school year, but right now they’re lazy and bored. What can I do right now to help them have more productive and pleasant days?  answer

Q: What suggestions do you have other than "eventually they will appreciate you” to encourage children and teens to eat properly at home and to show respect for the family cook?
